Senate District 35 DFL Convention February 13
Senate District 35 DFL is holding its SD35 DFL Convention at Prior Lake High School on Saturday February 13th beginning at 10:00AM. Doors open at 8:30AM with Registration starting at 9:00AM. Volunteers are needed to help with the event.
The Convention is for Delegates and Alternate Delegates elected from the Precinct Caucuses. They vote on matters such as local party directors and officers, state level committee members, plus local party matters. The delegates vote to endorse legislative candidates.
How do you become a delegate to the District Convention? Delegates and Alternate Delegates are elected at your Precinct Caucus. If you cannot be at the caucus, you must submit a letter in advance or have the letter delivered your precinct caucus stating that you wish to be a delegate to the District Convention. Delegates are elected so being in attendance is a big advantage.
Of the expected 200 attendees, 16 delegates and 16 alternative delegates will be selected to represent trhe District at the DFL State Convention to be held in Duluth from April 23 through the 25th. The State Convention will, among other things, endorse candidates for statewide offices such as Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Auditor, Gvernor and Lieutenant Governor. State Delegate are elected spots.
