Make a Difference This Time!
Who needs you? Barack Obama does. Al Franken needs you, too. So does Steve Sarvi and so do our Minnesota legislative candidates.
Want to make a difference in 2008? Well why not! Little things add up. If you have a little time or if you have a lot of time then why not give some! Campaignin’ is really pretty old fashioned stuff. It is just neighbor to neighbor contact.
1) Phoning Friends. Technically its called “phone banking” but most of us think that sounds to much like financial activity. Phoning is easy and we will provide training to new folks. Phoning can be done from home or with teams at specified locations. We will use these phone contacts to: A) Invite strong supporters to events; B) Canvasswhich means ask who they support and send stickers or literature if wanted; C) GOTV which is Get Out The Vote when we try to get as many supporters to the polls in November. Want to know more? Would you help out? E-mail us! Thanks!
2) Special Events. Campaigns always need some volunteer help. It can be to march in a parade; man a booth at the state fair; come to rallies and forums; or any other sort of event. Each event has a different agenda and usually happen to be just plain fun. Would you help out? E-mail us! And Thanks!
3) Neighbor Knocking. The pros say there is no greater tool in politics than walking up to a potential supporters door and making a neighborly contact. Divided into little teams, we go out and knock on the doors of people that are either current supporters or those we think could become supporters. Everyone gets advanced training. We will use these in-person contacts to: A) Invite strong supporters to events; B) Canvasswhich means ask who they support and drop off stickers or literature if wanted; C) Persuasion (done by the more experienced of the crews). Want to know more? Want to help out?
You can also be A Door Knocking Coordinator. Would you coordinate, or door knock? E-mail us! Thanks!
