Things to Do

Many people doing a little accomplishes a lot. Nothing is more valuable than people. What is politics if it isn’t people to people, neighbor to neighbor. Every person brings their energy, ideas, and abilities to the table. This year you can read, learn, talk to your neighbor, invite five friends over and have a house party, and more. You could volunteer an hour a week or more. Your support is crucial! As usual, any support you can give is greatly appreciated. Here are some things to do:

Neighbor Calling
Nothing is better than a personal touch. Some call it phone banking. We call it Neighbor Calling. We do a combination of individual and group calling. When we call for our Senate District, we usually call up people to invite them to things and events. Often we are asked by campaign staffs to provide people for a specific candidate. Maybe you ahve an hour or two in a week to help out on occasion?

Add Ideas and Expertise
Do you have any specialized skills? Of course you do. We can always use ideas and expertise ranging from tech and web to events and advertising. Building a community organization

DFL Senate District 35 Committees
If you have time to give, we have a number of committees that would appreciate your help. For more information, please visit our Committees page.

Learn & Share
Our goal is to provide stimulating speakers and topics at SD35 monthly meetings (the second Thursday of every month). In addition, we will sponsor informal coffee or casual dinner groups that want to share thoughts and ideas while being entertained by a guest speaker. Interested? Let us know.

Help Run Minnesota!
Secretary of State Mark Ritchie is letting all citizens know about openings for appointments to the boards and other agencies that help run Minnesota government. Through these appointments, “individuals can get directly involved in the policies and services of state government. The Minnesota Open Appointments process has become a nationwide model for citizen participation.” Please consider applying for these interesting opportunities. Visit this website for information on what positions are open.

Please also see our Campaignin’ Page for Door Knocking Dates, and more.
