Absentee Voting
For this year’s November election, it is possible to vote via absentee ballot if you aren’t able to vote in person because you are:
–away from home (this includes going to school away from home or serving in the Armed Services)
–ill or disabled
–an election judge serving in a precinct other than your own
–unable to go to the polling place due to a religious observance or belief.
To request an absentee ballot, a voter must complete the absentee ballot application and deliver it to the entity conducting the election. That would be Elko New Market, Jordan, Prior Lake, Savage, or Shakopee. The voter must sign this application, as this is the signature that will be used to verify a voter’s identity. So, parents cannot sign the application for their children.
